Treatment Summary
Our participants used the Medi Lift facial device mask throughout the study period at least once a day, for 10 minutes per session. Our results data indicated that their facial contours were higher than the baseline at every examined timepoint (i.e., 14 days, 30 days, and 60 days after first use), suggesting that the Product can effectively lift saggy facial skin if it is consecutively used for 14 days or longer.
We postulate that the observed effects were caused by the electrical muscle stimulation delivered by the Medi Lift Product to the zygomaticus and masseter muscle groups.
Definitions
Masseter Muscle - Is a muscle which runs through the rear part of the cheek from the temporal bone to the lower jaw on each side and closes the jaw in chewing.
Zygomaticus Major - Is a muscle of facial expression. It extends from each zygomatic arch (cheekbone) to the corners of the mouth. It is a muscle of facial expression which draws the angle of the mouth superiorly and posteriorly to allow one to smile.
Zygomaticus Minor - Is a muscle of facial expression. It originates from the zygomatic bone, lateral to the rest of the levator labii superioris muscle, and inserts into the outer part of the upper lip. It draws the upper lip backward, upward, and outward and is used in smiling.
